Do not pass up reporting the little critters

From the Road to Art, Roadkill Art

There are many roadkill artist, of course the taxidermist makes art from deceased animals but not necessarily roadkill. West Virginia the state with the most roadkill year round, supports a variety of roadkill artist specializing in purses made from fur, jewelry made from dried bones, hats from tails and whimsical forms of taxidermy for the mantle or shelf. Taxidermy art might be the answer for that special gift when funds are tight. If anything your art could be the start of fun conversations. Roadkill is not only cost effective meat for consumption, but cost effective for the artist. The Roadkill Art App has a slew of roadkill artist who often share their creations for member's to enjoy. Do not pass up reporting the smaller roadkill in the app. you might be suppling an artist with their next work of art.

WILDLIFE AND FIREWORKS

Loud noises from fireworks can lead to increased roadkill.

The loud, unexpected sounds of fireworks can startle and terrify animals, causing them to flee their normal habitats in a state of panic. Our pets are scared on the 4th of July and New Years Eve, it is the same for wildlife. In their fear and disorientation, animals may run onto roadways, increasing the risk of being hit by vehicles. Many of us will be on roads after a fireworks celebration, animals can still be uneasy even after the noise subsides. Be extra vigilant while driving, have passengers on the look out for wildlife near the road. Slow down in areas marked with wildlife crossing signs. Avoid swerving if a collision seems inevitable, as this can increase the risk of injury. Be aware of potential distractions and maintain a safe following distance, the law nationwide is to stay one car length for every 10 miles per hour from the car ahead of you. Have fun celebrating the 249th Birthday of the greatest county in the world, Happy 4th of July! Keep your holiday uninterrupted by slowing down and staying aware of evening surroundings. https://www.fws.gov/story/keeping-wildlife-safe-independence-day#:
